Distributes 20 Million Masks and Additional PPE to Communities in Need
As part of Bank of Americaâs $1 billion, four-year commitment to advance racial equality and economic opportunity, the company today announced that it will work with CVS Health to fund a no-cost flu voucher program for under-resourced communities across the U.S., including Black/African American, Native American and Hispanic-Latino populations that may not have access to low- or no-cost preventative flu shots. The program will initially be rolled out in seven cities, including Detroit, Dallas, Jacksonville, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, Boston and Greater Washington, D.C., through no-cost vouchers distributed by key nonprofit partners that serve households most in need.
âUnderserved communities have been hit particularly hard by COVID-19, so supporting flu prevention in these communities is even more important,â said Eileen Howard Boone, senior vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility and Philanthropy, CVS Health. âWorking together with other community-minded companies like Bank of America and our nonprofit partners, we are able to expand our reach to individuals who may not otherwise have access to flu vaccines.â

CVS Health announced Wednesday all pharmacies will now begin offering flu shots to continue improving the publics health and protecting the community.
CVS says especially with the rise in cases of COVID-19, its more important now than ever before to keep up with vaccinations and other needs. The CDC recommends getting vaccinated in the early fall, no later than the end of October.
CVS Health has administered approximately 30 million COVID-19 vaccinations to date, in addition to more than 20 million flu and other vaccinations over the past twelve months, Neela Montgomery, Executive Vice President, CVS Health and President, CVS Pharmacy said. We have built a simple vaccination experience where customers appreciate the convenience and safety.
The company says people are increasingly intending to get their flu shot, with 71% saying theyre definitely or most likely going to get it this season, according to a CVS survey.
CVS will have flu shots available seven days a week, with the intention to expand evening and weekend hours.

Target Offers $5 Coupons To Those Who Get Vaccinated In Its Stores
Adults who get vaccinated against COVID-19 at CVS pharmacies inside Target stores nationwide will also get a $5 coupon, starting this week, the discount retailer announced on Tuesday.
Target offers immunization shots at nearly all the more than 1,700 CVS pharmacies inside its stores. The extra incentive for the general public and its employees comes as part of its support of public vaccination efforts, the company stated.
The Minneapolis-based retailer in March said it was partnering with CVS Pharmacy to help vaccinate Americans during a pandemic that has claimed more than 578,000 U.S. lives.
Convincing hesitant Americans to get vaccinated against the coronavirus had the governor of West Virginia last week taking the atypical step of offering $100 savings bonds to residents 35 and younger to roll up their sleeves.
In recent weeks and months, Americans have been offered an array of incentives to get vaccinated against COVID-19, with donuts and weed among the freebies retailers big and small have been dangling to consumers.
President Biden this week set a new goal of having 160 million U.S. adults fully vaccinated and 70% of adults at least partially vaccinated by July 4, ramping up efforts to reach rural areas and communities where the rate of immunizations has lagged.

CVS Health is reminding Americans that as the country continues to deal with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic it is more important than ever to stay current with vaccinations and other routine health care needs. By getting a flu shot this fall and taking other proactive measures to improve general health and immunity, individuals and families can protect themselves against seasonal flu and help safeguard the overall health of the community.
According to a survey commissioned by CVS Health Flu Intention Survey, commissioned by CVS Health in June 2021 and conducted among a general population of U.S. consumers, consumers intention to get vaccinated against seasonal flu increased five percentage points from June 2020 to June 2021, with 71 percent of those surveyed saying they definitely or likely will get a flu shot this season. In addition, 45 percent of consumers surveyed said they planned to get a flu shot at a retail pharmacy, the most preferred destination cited, followed by a doctors office .
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that individuals make plans to get vaccinated early in the fall, before flu season begins, and ideally no later than the end of October.

It’s flu season again, and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention has released the vaccine for the 2019-2020 flu season. Flu season runs from fall to early spring, but the time to get vaccinated is now.
The CDC recommends getting the vaccination by the end of October, since the vaccine takes two weeks to become fully effective.
For those with insurance, getting a free flu shot is relatively easy and accessible. Pharmacies such as CVS, Walmart and Walgreens accept most insurance, and CVS allows walk-ins without an appointment.
Some places incentivize getting a flu shot with coupons and promotions. Target often offers a $5 giftcard. Safeway offers 10% your next grocery visit and at Publix, you will receive a $10 gift card when you get a flu shot.
