Oh boy, its that time of the year again. I was shopping at CVS this week, and the sale associate answered the phone with a very seasonal greeting Good morning this is CVS, would you like a flu shot? Well thats one way to get straight to the point with folks!

I cant believe that September is over, and we are flipping the calendar page to October this weekend. It certainly is time to think about getting my flu shot. Our family has suffered the dreaded flu, so we take our flu shots seriously. We do not want to relieve that positively awful family bonding time as we all experienced fevers, fatigue and aches together. For the past few years I dutifully schedule the kids appointments to get their flu shots with their pediatrician. But Im a busy mom and getting in to see my provider is a major pain. I have to make an appointment weeks in advance, and then wait at least an hour in a waiting room. Thats why this year Im headed to CVS Pharmacy at my local Target. Did you remember our earlier post about CVS and Target partnering up to have CVS Pharmacies within Target stores?

Get Your Flu Shot At Target Cvs = $5 Gift Card

CVS opening availability for COVID-19 vaccines

If you haven’t gotten your flu shot yet, I highly recommend you get it at CVS Target next time you’re shopping! I get mine there every year. It’s just too easy I’m always there shopping or scoping out deals to post, so I stop by the pharmacy and get it like I did this year!

Now, you have the option of getting your flue shot at Target. If your Target has a CVS pharmacy you’ll have that option. This year I opted for the CVS pharmacy in my local Target.

Here’s my top 4 reasons to get your flu shot at Target CVS:

  • It’s quicker! No waiting in your doctors office for an hour for your turn.
  • Most insurance pays for it with no co-pay
  • No extra trip or wasting gas going to the office you were headed there to shop anyway.
  • Instead of getting a lollypop for being good, you get a $5 Target gift card

As you can see, I did pretty well with getting my flu shot. I did get a little nervous. I was a nurse for 25 years but when the needle is in the other arm so to speak it’s a different story.

They’ll send you home with paperwork to give to your primary physician for their records.

Thanks for the reminder Trelenza H.

The pharmacy counter at Target has been suffering mightily since the retailer sold its pharmacy business to CVS last year. That would explain the signage youll see around the pharmacy with the CVS logo!

The gift card doesnt expire and can be used at a Target location other than the one where you get the shot. Offer void in Arkansas, New Jersey and New York.

Cvs Pharmacy And Minuteclinic Encourage Families To Get Their Flu Shots During National Influenza Vaccination Week

WOONSOCKET, R.I., Dec. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — During National Influenza Vaccination Week , CVS Pharmacy is reminding families nationwide that it’s not too late to receive a flu shot to protect themselves from the flu. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention established National Influenza Vaccination Week in 2005 to emphasize the importance of getting vaccinated as the holiday season begins and even into the new year, since a flu shot is the best way to prevent the flu.

A recent survey released by CVS Health found that nearly two in five Americans make multiple trips to get their entire household vaccinated, pointing to a lack of convenience as a real hurdle for families looking to get the flu shot. With CVS Pharmacy’s more than 9,600 retail pharmacies and 1,100 walk-in MinuteClinics to choose from, getting the whole family vaccinated this flu season has never been more convenient.

“National Influenza Vaccination Week is a great reminder that the flu virus doesn’t take the holidays off and families should make sure they’re protected by getting vaccinated,” said Papatya Tankut, R.Ph., Vice President of Pharmacy Affairs at CVS Health. “CVS Pharmacy understands that families’ schedules are packed with holiday to-dos this time of year, and that’s why we make getting the flu shot convenient.”

The survey also revealed that two in three employed Americans would still go to work even if they were feeling ill with flu-like symptoms.
