Cvs Pharmacy And Minuteclinic Encourage Families To Get Their Flu Shots During National Influenza Vaccination Week
WOONSOCKET, R.I., Dec. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — During National Influenza Vaccination Week , CVS Pharmacy is reminding families nationwide that it’s not too late to receive a flu shot to protect themselves from the flu. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention established National Influenza Vaccination Week in 2005 to emphasize the importance of getting vaccinated as the holiday season begins and even into the new year, since a flu shot is the best way to prevent the flu.
A recent survey released by CVS Health found that nearly two in five Americans make multiple trips to get their entire household vaccinated, pointing to a lack of convenience as a real hurdle for families looking to get the flu shot. With CVS Pharmacy’s more than 9,600 retail pharmacies and 1,100 walk-in MinuteClinics to choose from, getting the whole family vaccinated this flu season has never been more convenient.
“National Influenza Vaccination Week is a great reminder that the flu virus doesn’t take the holidays off and families should make sure they’re protected by getting vaccinated,” said Papatya Tankut, R.Ph., Vice President of Pharmacy Affairs at CVS Health. “CVS Pharmacy understands that families’ schedules are packed with holiday to-dos this time of year, and that’s why we make getting the flu shot convenient.”
The survey also revealed that two in three employed Americans would still go to work even if they were feeling ill with flu-like symptoms.

Is The Shingles Vaccine Covered By Medicare And Can I Get It At Cvs
Because the shingles vaccine requires two doses, if you have to pay full price around $400 total it may approach the $445 maximum Part D deductible that Medicare allows for 2021.
If thats the case, you may want to consider getting your vaccine early in the year. This way you dont have to worry about your deductible resetting in a new plan year soon after meeting it. You should discuss the risks and benefits of this strategy with your healthcare provider.
As far as going to CVS Pharmacy or CVS in Target to get your shingles vaccine, this is definitely an option. You can always call ahead or go online to schedule same-day appointments, or go in on a walk-in basis at many locations.

How Long Does The Meningitis Vaccine Last
Available data suggests that protection from meningococcal conjugate decreases in many teens within five years. Getting a booster, as determined by your health care provider, may be critical in maintaining protection when most at risk for meningococcal disease.
Some adolescents and young adults may also receive a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine. The preferred age for receipt is 16 through 18 years so adolescents have protection during the ages of increased risk.*
