Because COVID-19 continues to spread in the community, reducing your risk for catching the flu is more important than ever and, thankfully, the same measures that protect you from COVID-19 work for the flu as well.
Christelle Ilboudo, MD, pediatric infectious disease expert and MU Health Cares medical director of infection control and prevention, said the best way to protect yourself from the flu is to get vaccinated. And MU Health Care is offering several safe, convenient opportunities to get your 2021 flu vaccine .
Ilboudo recommends that everyone age 6 months and older get a flu vaccination in September or October, but if you miss that window, you can be vaccinated anytime during flu season, even in January or later.

Children six moths to four years old can get their flu shot from a doctor, nurse practitioner or local public health unit. Children under five years old cannot get a flu shot at a pharmacy.

- Wear a mask at all times
- Arrive five minutes prior your appointment

Third Session In Addition To Two Others Already Scheduled At Coca
Lehigh Valley Health Network is adding a third day for administering free influenza vaccinations in November. The additional session for drive-thru flu vaccinations will take place on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hecktown Oaks in Lower Nazareth Township. This will be the first time LVHN has conducted drive-thru flu vaccinations at that hospital location, which opened in June.
Shots will be given to adults and children six months and older.
LVHN earlier announced two drive-thru sessions for Coca-Cola Park in Allentown on Saturday, Nov. 6 and Sunday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. LVHNs long-time drive-thru vaccination partner, Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom, will not be available to participate this year due to an extended operating season.
For the past 23 years, LVHNs community influenza vaccination campaign has administered nearly 188,000 free flu shots and collected more than 152,000 pounds of food for area food banks.
Getting a flu vaccine is more important than ever this year because it can reduce the risk of illness, hospitalization, and death from the flu, said Alex Benjamin, MD, LVHNs Chief of Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology. Local Hospitals To Start Drive
HASTINGS, Neb. – As flu season approaches, local hospitals are encouraging the public to get their annual flu shot.
To make it more convenient for people Mary Lanning Healthcare, CHI Health Good Samaritan and CHI Health Good Sam will be hosting drive thru clinics.
CHI Health Kearney Clinic will be on Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Organizers said a blue tent will set up on the north side of the property during that time. People can pre-register by calling 308-865-2141.
