No. The flu shot is not 100 percent effective, but it does greatly lower your risk of getting the flu. There are many different types of the flu virus, and the shot doesn’t protect you against all of them. Each year, the World Health Organization identifies three or four types most likely to be spread for that year’s flu season to include in the flu shot.

VALENTINE BARZAC: We have noticed that flu numbers for adults are on the rise this year so it is important to get your flu shot.
Melito: IN 2020 ACCORDING TO BARZAC FLU NUMBERS WERE DOWN BECAUSE PEOPLE WERE TAKING CORONAVIRUS PERSUASIONS. BUT HE SAYS PEOPLE SHOULD STILL BE VIGILANT ABOUT GETTING THEIR FLU SHOT THIS YEAR REGARDLESS OF PAST EXPERIENCES WITH COVID-19.
Barzac: COVID is a virus so people may think that they are not going to get the flu. But the flu is a different type of virus and you may hear on the news that there are different variants of COVID. Well the flu has different variants.
Melito: THE REASONS FOR PEOPLE GETTING THEIR FLU SHOT IS WIDE SCOPING.
GABBY SARTORI: Keep the sicknesses to a minimal and keep those people out of the hospitals that are immunocompromised.
Melito: GETTING YOUR FLU SHOT IS A GREAT START, BUT THERE IS ALWAYS MORE YOU CAN DO TO FURTHER YOUR CHANCES OF NOT GETTING THE VIRUS.
